To Kofi Annan

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, on visiting the Indonesian island of Sumatra

"You wonder where are the people? What has happened to them?"

Annan said as he toured Aceh province, one of the areas hardest hit by the December 26 disaster.

"I have never seen such utter destruction mile after mile."

I have few words to say to you Secretary General, I know this has been a devastating event which has shook the world, taken many millions of lives and completely changed the lives of those which were left surviving.

But did you ever gave a second thought about the destruction caused by humans, did you ever try to visit those places or even thought about setting up relief camps or reestablishing those devastation struck cities of Iraq. Iraq is under an illegal occupation and the hell unleashed on its citizens by the occupying forces is not much lesser if not equal to the one caused tsunami. Cities like Baghdad, Mosul, Najaf, Fallujah have been made into ruins. Not a single day goes by when there isn’t a bomb blast or some military raid on civilians or some miss-guided missile ending up killing tens of innocent members of a single family(followed by an apology as if lives can be traded for a small word as such as “sorry”). Seriously its about time world pays its attention to Iraq and do something more concrete about the situation there. Simply calling for elections wont solve a thing and will not bring any change to the lives of sufferers

Neither I have been updating regularly Nor I have been visiting blogs of any of my friends. Either it is my laziness or my usual habit of “losing interest”. God knows better.
