27 on 27th and a Breaking News.

Yup people its my 27th birthday on 27th of August , kewl na ;). Yup yup am a budha now :P. its so far so good I would say, Dad called. Sister Called. Loads of friends called , got text messages and a very cute card from a very cute friend :P and it all felt good. Thank you all :D. So far no plans for tomorrow as yet, office colleagues were planning one so lets see how it goes. Using cake mix and some assistance from mom I have baked one chocolate cake for colleagues tomorrow, lets hope how it tastes well so far it smells yummy :D.

By the way wanted to break a news from past couple of weeks, but wasn’t finding appropriate time to do that. Infact still there is some time left in the process but am hoping inshAllah everything will be fine(bit worried though). Yea so the news is I have resigned from my current place, yup its over(I shall write about my experience here soon). Few weeks back I got an offer from University of UAE in Al-Ain to work in their IT Department and I have accepted it. After a significant hue and cry at work, lots of convincing to change my mind and lots of emotional stuff too ;). They have just come to terms of it and have accepted it. I really don’t want to talk about it but my decision was judged with keeping every minute detail in front as if I am committing a serious mistake. Anyways its done so its done.

Anyways so people in first week of September inshAllah, I will be departing this motherland and embarking on a new journey. It sure was a tough decision and I had to keep many parameters in mind but finally I have decided to give myself a chance. I know initially it will be tough, Al-Ain is not Dubai its at one hour drive from it. Quiet and a small town, lets hope I settle there quick. So people if all goes well and I get my new passport on time and those guys issue visa on time, I am left with very few days in my city and with my family. I am already homesick :P, although I have been away from home during my time in GIKI but that was different. I was in same country, had loads of friends, was studying and was always coming home after 2 months :P. but this time no such luxuries but that’s life and this is the way it goes. So wish me luck people :) and yea this blog will not stop inshAllah and do pray
I get my passport soon and then my visa too Thanks again :).

PS: There is so much I need to do in last few days, so many people to meet, places to go, do shopping (havent started yet and its freaking me), learn some cooking specially for sehri and all :(. aaaaaaaaaaaaa suggestions??

Pinacolada Variation

Cranberries and Raspberries juices are fairly common available these days. I am sure most of you are familiar with the recipe of pinacolada(if you don’t ask me and I will be most glad to post it next time). Anyways just do a slight variation just just replace the pineapple juice with Cranberry or Raspberry or even Red Grapes and enjoy a delicious variation of pinacolada but I guess it wont be called pinacolada then ummm respcolada? But DO TRY.

Sandspit fun

Another one week break :), me getting lazy right? Anyhow Sands pit (and not Hawksbay) was quite fun. Even though it was just our department which meant quite a few friends of mine from other departments were missing but still we made good use of what we got. Starting with half an hour of soccer in which my team lost badly :( and I ended up injuring my foot. I believe it was my lack of stamina and lack of quality of other teammates which made it quite a mess. Anyhow after relaxing for like 20-30 minutes on the beach , getting wet in salty water and warned by lifeguard, setup volley ball net and that’s when the real fun began. Won first set quite comfortably, Faisal served well and we were more organized bunch. Second set started and I took up the service and immediately started having major advantage of wind blowing towards right. That’s the fun of playing volley ball in open and in blowing wind if you have enough control you can use the wind to swing your service just the right amount and bamboozle the opposition. That’s exactly what happened and we went 7-0 straight ahead but the best part we lost that set :D. 1-1 going into third I came on net hit few smashes and dropped few pass the net, Faisal controlled the center court well taking up all the serves, damn fun it was, 2-1. Fourth set again took up the serve but we lost it again after taking up a good lead I think there was something wrong with that side :P and even I played badly. anyhow could never start 5th and final set because of bad light otherwise it would have been fun.

Had snacks and went for the walk. Came back had shower some of them were watching “Indian song videos” frankly I could not find the point in it of having that activity in a beach hut so went upstairs on the roof with my mp3 player and sat there in open and little bit of moon light before dinner was served. After dinner, had a bit of usual “taking on” session and headed our way back. By 12 I was home and it felt I had been working out for hours every single joint was aching. Had another shower took three painkillers and ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Woke up at 14:00 on Sunday and then it was all the same routine week. This week “Customer Care” will be going there and medussa knows very well how much everyone must be so disappointed about the “missed opportunity” ;).

Gadgets Mania

Recently two of the gadgets have taken place in my life. One I bought after thorough thinking and checking out all the pros and cons. Second was the instant buy and I guess both of them have become integral part of my life now. The first one IRiver IFP-190T is a 256 MB Mp3 player which comes with a FM tuner. It sure is damn portable and have great sound quality. Its rated quite well in Amazon too and for 70$ I guess it was a good bargain.

The Second piece although very expensive but one the state of the art stuff and the “in” thing these days. I came across it while roaming around one of the malls in Dubai and instantly made a decision that I must have it. Ladies and Gentlemen yes here it is my own PSP.

Yup yup so I have this portable play station with me and I must say it sure lives up to its expectation and its high price tag :(. Along with games it can play music files plus movies too(though I haven’t tried any yet). And If I can somehow get a hand on wireless router I can bring it online and use it for browsing. For Games right now I got NFS and Soccer Discs with it. And they are enough to take one – two hours of life everyday. Lets just hope that both these gadgets stay in shape , Ameen.

PS: Tomorrow our department is goind to hawksbay, hoping for some fun. yup Medussa its dept wise now.
