Yup Bryan Adams did rock Dubai

Oh well these days I am updating my blog on weekly basis so hence it becomes on big post which most of the times infact all the times doesn’t make a good read. Must update atleast twice a week

Ok so let’s begin with the Musical festival which held exactly a week before.
The venue was great, held inside an old fort next to its west wall and with the kind of lightning they had it gave quite a wonderful effect, perfect for a classical music event.
That Austrian orchestra played Mozart really well, started with his first symphony which he wrote when he was just eight years old. Ok that was quite early I mean I don’t know even S of symphony and that guy composed it all when he was just eight. I guess he was born with a music specialized brain. According to the Master, Mozart used to compose the entire composition in his head and when he knew it was done he would write it down on paper completed. Its like you write an entire novel in your head and when it is done you just write on the paper grrrrrrrrr, some brain. After the symphony they played one of his compositions for the clarinet which was followed by another symphony. By the time it was done I decided to leave I had to meet a colleague of mine though that never happened. Weekend was usual trip to Sharjah met a distant cousin my mom had sent some food with him so picked that up :D finally some home food :D. Checked out a car didn’t like it and came back.

Rest of the week was good, had a demo presentation of a certain project with my manager and he seemed to like it but gave loads of additional work :(.

Now coming back to kul, some of you know it was the Bryan Adams Concert in Dubai. The one which was postponed earlier this year. Although it was on a weekday but in no way I was going to miss it. But before leaving Al-Ain, the car dealer gives me a call and goes “there is another BM in a very good condition if you need it come and check it”. And I was like kapoooot because I was so short on time that I knew if I go to Sharjah I won’t make it to the concert anyway before 21:00(that was the start time). But I had to check out that car too so after suffering from the usual stupid Sharjah Traffic jams made it to the showroom around 20:40, grrrrr but that guy had taken car for the wash. Anyhow he came back, car was in an immaculate condition. Nice bumpers, new tyres and alloy rims (pretty hot). Color ok wasn’t of my first choice but have to compensate some where, drove it felt good, no issues with engine and brakes and yes decided to buy it :D, so Ladies and Gentlemen I am or will be soon inshAllah proud owner of BMW 325i , 95 model(old but driven very little). It has gone for some tuning and once it is back I will ask someone to drive it back to Al-Ain(not advisable to drive on highway your first up) inshAllah inshAllah.

Hokay so after making the car deal, rushed for a cab and reached the venue around 21:35. Concert had already started. They didn’t allow cameras so I had to deposit it, sigh sorry people no pictures :( will find some from the net. It was in the same center court(it is like my 4th visit to that court in as many as 3 weeks :O) where I witnessed WTA and ATP actions. Court was jam picked got a place in the west stand, center playing area was jam packed so they closed it otherwise I would have loved to be there but I guess for that I had to reach there quite quite earlier. But my entry was on the perfect song yes our beloved Summer of 69(btw concert had started 21:00, so punctual :D). From there it was one hell of an experience song after song he played hamari jawani kay favourites, lol. I mean the early music the one you start listening to at the beginning of your teen years. Crowd was ecstatic, they were all singing with him. I am sure Karachi concert people must have felt the same. He made us sing, he made us dance. Like he has done before he pulls a girl from the crowd to sing a duet with him When You're Gone. This time it was a Lebanese babe who had come specially to attend this concert and boy didn’t it make her travel a memorable one. I am sure lots of ladies were jealous of her :P, not so sure about her boyfriend though haha I don’t need to give any details :P. but she sang ok, it wasn’t easy for her to control her emotions so she was just jumping and trying to say a word or two lol. But crowd was mast(urdu wala), plus this guy is a very good entertainer he kept the crowd going, joked a lot and the crowd responded. Plus I think the tennis court was a good idea, it gave a kind of closed atmosphere feeling not like usual Bharia museum/Creek club walay concerts feeling. So had loads of fun fully rocked by Bryan Adams :D. Especially gonna run to you was done brilliantly with his lead guitarist playing some good riffs. But like all the good things which come to an end this had to end too though he came back twice(maybe he does that always, no idea). I had to take a private cab to get back home which did cost me few extra bucks but still in a reasonable range. Too sad no cameras were allowed but then I don’t think my camera would have done a good job in those light conditions. Oh well gotta run now, a friend of mine is leaving to Karachi tomorrow so I am going to Sharjah today instead of my usual Thursdays. Take care all.
