Events of Last Few Days

Happy Eid Greetings to every one of you, May God bring peace and prosperity to this world and blessings in everyone’s life.

So much has happened since my last update. Death of Yasser Arafat, Resignation of Faraz who was my mentor and a good friend, Birth of a baby boy to my sister who is in Houston and last night victory. But I never felt like writing so this blog never saw those entries.

For me Yasser Arafat was a freedom fighter for the holy land, he might have used some terror acts initially to weaken the oppressors but later took the path of peace. Although both routes didn’t yield the required results. I guess there is still some time left for the peace in Jerusalem.

Faraz has now become the second team leader who has resigned, before him it was Irfan. Like Irfan, Faraz is a very good friend of mine. We often seek advice from one another whenever we were having issues, it is the sort of understanding and faith we have in each other. From many good qualities he has, the one which stands out most is his ability to absorb the pressure exerted by the management and never letting his own team suffer. That is the sign of a very good team lead. I wish him very best of luck in future and hope that we always stay in touch.

Ok so I am Mamoon (Uncle) for the sixth time now(getting used to it ;)), My sister in Houston gave birth to her second child and this time it is a boy, she already has a very cute daughter Anuam. So now Anuam has a brother, I haven’t got the pics yet but will upload whenever I get those. Infact I think they haven’t decided on name yet.

Cricket, Cricket and Cricket. If someone watches a cricket match which doesn’t involve his/her own country than that person is sure a big fan of this game and that’s what I am. Yesterday was a very special match and that involved Pakistan(my homeland) and our arch rivals India. We were playing in India after 1999 so it was a return after a long time and what a match we had, match between India and Pakistan always brings the best out of both teams and it surely produces a young star now and then. Yesterday’s match wasn’t different Salman Butt’s heroics have made him a star now, lets just hope he remains consistent and doesn’t become one match star(we seem to have quite a many in that category).

I was disappointed to see the behavior of the crowd, they hardly cheered our team and most of them have left the stadium five overs before the end. The only time I heard them roaring when Imran Khan came on to receive his medal during innings break interval, but then that is Khan Sahib and he has many admirers.
