Happenings

Haven’t bogged for a week. Wasn’t feeling up to it really although there is a lot I could have written about but I didn’t. Even I wasn’t visiting any one of your blogs (My Apologies).
First of all my sister went back to Houston and that means two of the most yummiest kids have left too :( and its all back to the same as it was before. Last two months have been just wonderful, it was a much awaited visit of hers(after 4 years) and it felt every moment was worth waiting. Anuam and Adil were a refreshing change from monotonous dull life I was(and am still) spending and they could make me forget about everything which would even remotely bother me. I miss Anuam’s “mein apko bohat yaad kur rahee thee” or “mein apko bohat miss kee” and “app ghur kub aye gain, juldee aayee” and Adil when he used to stay calm and quiet in my arms or when I used to try my best to make him laugh :) with no success(infact most of the times he used to end up crying). Oh well that’s life people come and go but the days spend with your loved ones, make you live through tough times and tough times are what I am going through these days. I personally believe I need to evaluate myself and where I am heading and seriously need to take few steps but I know I wont because that’s the way I am.

Last Sunday tried strawberry soufflé and it went horribly wrong, so wrong that no one even tried tasting it more than once. I didn’t bother to have it. Something went wrong while I was beating egg whites and while baking the mixture, oh well will try again. But I guess for tomorrow I shall try something else. Lets c.

Ammi is really feeling lonely these days, am sure she is missing all three of them but I guess she will get used to it again. Even my prolonged working hours are not helping much.

Mixed-Fruit Smoothies and Worm

OK dont get any weird ideas with the topic, these two are completely non-related to each other. My home pooter is affected by some virus(worm) which slows down my internet speed and chokes the bandwidth and my super duper anti virus is not able to recognize it sigh, I guess I will need another Antivirus, should get Norton or Mcaffee. oh well so there is no fun in using net these days :(.

Coming to part 2: Had a family dinner of around 40 people at khalas place and I made this for everyone :D

Mixed-Fruit Smoothies (Taken from MSN House and Home)

Here it goes

2 medium bananas, chilled
2/3 cup strawberries or mango slices (strawberries ofcourse :P)
12-ounce can grape juice or mango, apricot, strawberry, or other fruit nectar, chilled (I went for Nestle Apple Nectar)
8-ounce carton fat-free yogurt

Directions

Combine bananas; strawberries ; Apple nectar; yogurt. Cover and blend until smooth. Pour into six tall, chilled glasses. Makes 6 smoothies.

Note: For two-tone smoothies, make banana smoothies and strawberry smoothies. Transfer to separate pitchers or glass measuring cups. Taking a pitcher or cup in each hand, slowly pour both smoothies at the same time into opposite sides of the glass.

I went for the two-tone but sigh both of them got mixed up :(, either I made a mistake with the recipe or I didnt pour them correctly(mind you it aint easy to keep similar speed with both hands :S)

But yea altogether taste was yummy and they luved it :D. Do Try!!!

Seven habits of highly effective people

My friend Sidz is supposed to give a presentation on the seven habits of highly effective people, while having our convo following are the ones we thought are must have if you want to be any sort of effective at your workplace.

1) They sleep at work.
2) They snore while sleeping.
3) They dish out all of their work to their juniors.
4) If u say 1 =1 they will still try to make it 1=2
5) Love to boss everyone aroubnd and be a manager (courtesy to sidz)
6) Will always be late for work and make sure they assign you loads of work right before 5 PM.
7) Will make many changes to the requirements and then when those are implemented will revert back to the old ones, but then again will come up with new ones and this cycle wil go on until deadline becomes a milestone from past.

So if you want to have any say at work just follow these guidelines and rest assured you shall have a successful future *grin*.

Cricket and a Dedication

So the week ended with couple of deadlines being achieved gracefully :), Thank God. Tommorow is gonna be a big day, one of my team member is on leave. Infact I had to make him take a leave (yea yea one of the zee responsibilities of being a TL, one should make sure his team mates are mentally and physically fresh) so I will have to look after his daily routine work too, oh well no sleep :P *grin*. On Saturday after being humiliated for 4 days, Pakistanis or should I say Razzaq and Kamran Akmal just turned it all around and restored pride of a drowning ship atleast somewhat. But yea it was a truly awesome performance and somewhat miracle and since miracles are rare I am not sure what will happen in next two tests, which by the way is gonna start from 16th. But the tension through which we were going through and wanting things to happen our way can only happen between India Pakistan matches(Moiz will agree too, but no he is fan of Pak team am I right?).

Sidrah has posted a poem dedicated to strawberries and yesh to me , Thanko Thanko :) soo sweeet and yaaays to strawberries.

PS: Have found a khyber 97 in quite a good condition(w/o CNG), he is asking 320, what you guys say is 3 good enough??

Lost Mind and Numb Fingers

*One of those posts which I shall never read*

I am in a weird state right now, its like my mind is saying one thing and my body another. I wish to write and my fingers(which are almost numb) are not allowing me to. I feel like my mind will explode at any second, and I want to scream and scream out loud or beat a hell out of anyone :P. ok ok dont get scared, wont hurt you people. Really not sure is it Overdose of work, too many stupid confrontations or just a tension of handling one too many colleagues all wanting to get their work done first(have I written this before???. Although I will never ever admit that it is because of extra responsibilty). But Whatever it is, it sure is causing uneasyness in me and its getting quite noticeble to everyone. oh well I must go its 2:30AM abhee, back to work at 10.

ciao ciao

*End of another as usual workload whining session*

Weekly Roundup

Oh Well by the time I get home I am left with literally no energy whatsoever to write about anything and so far lot has happened this week. On Sunday went to watch Black Fish perform it was good fun :), real good. On Monday I was on leave and plan was to rest, rest and rest but I didnt :( and the last two days were anything than close to being comfort. Today finally we were able to dine at Lal Qila(my sisters long lasting wish coming true). Thrice before it was postponed either because of my unpredictable schedule or health condition of one of her kids, but today we made it :P and as always food was good. Climate got bit chilly and windy at the end but all in all it was a good family dinner(even if was just three of us). and yes I have one more box of kitkat with me yaaaaaay, ok not a full box but half of it :P.

At night when for couple of hours or more I am online chatting away or writing emails or just surfing around. I am sure you, my fellow bloggers/readers engage in one or another productive activity. To name one which I feel, is most positive is Reading. Reading is one habit I have completely thrown out of the window once I came back here after studies and am sure my online presence is a major contributor to that. There are dozens of half-finished books lying around and then there is this ever growing must-read list. Not to mention I have slowed down on movie watching too :(. or if not those two atleast I could have done something for my Game Programming desire, errrrrrrr there is so much I am missing of.
oh well Kudos to you all keep reading, writing and what else you guys are upto :).

Red Haired

Ok you guys must be wondering who this could be, well that’s a friend of mine who works at Nokia(Dubai) and was here for a 2 days business trip. Ather (another friend) had already warned me of this red hair change :), but apparently it suits her well :) (hey if you are reading this, it’s a compliment ;) ). Actually she didn’t get them all red but in shades(whatever term u ladies use :S).

We had just 45-50 minutes window to meet reason being she had been all busy yesterday and today after all the meetings ended around 6 and after that they(her Finnish and an Indian Colleagues) decided to check out and roam around this city before their scheduled flight time. Anyhow it was great to see her again(it was back in 2003 when we all gathered last time in Lahore for Ather’s Wedding) good to see a friend of mine involved in such high profile meetings :) Way to go Girl. Though it brought back memories of good old days but no I will not whine about past days. And Yea Thanks for the KitKats :D (luv them). Goodluck at work and keep coming( lol not for kitkats :P) :).

Btw at PC the A1 Grand Prix car was on the display, I could only get its pix on my cell cam I wish I had my digi with me :(. Just Love Formula 1 and hey season is gonna start ;), Moiz will you be there :D?
